For many players of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the Biggoron's Sword is the ultimate prize. It is a massive, two-handed blade that deals twice the damage of the Master Sword, making short work of most enemies and bosses. However, obtaining it is not a simple matter of finding a chest. It requires completing one of the game's longest and most complex side quests: the trading sequence.
The quest begins after you become an adult. You need to speak to the guard outside the Hyrule Castle Town Market who is complaining about his eyes. If you show him the Eye Drops from the Zora's Domain, he will give you the Pocket Cucco. From there, the chain continues. You take the Pocket Cucco to Talon at Lon Lon Ranch, who gives you the Cojiro, a blue cucco. Then, you take the Cojiro to the Lost Woods and give it to the man who wants his old cucco back. He gives you the Odd Mushroom.
This is where the timer starts. You have a limited amount of time to deliver the Odd Mushroom to the potion lady in Kakariko Village. If you succeed, she gives you the Odd Potion. Take that to the guard who was sick outside the Death Mountain Trail entrance. He gives you the Poacher's Saw. Next, take the saw to the carpenter in the Gerudo Valley tent. He gives you the Broken Goron's Sword.
Now, you must take the broken sword to the Biggoron on top of Death Mountain. He will forge it, but it takes three in-game days. After waiting, return to him to receive the Claim Check. Finally, take that check back to the Biggoron, and he will give you the finished Biggoron's Sword. It is a long journey, but the reward is one of the most powerful weapons in the entire game.
